Hubble Telescope Picture

This photo was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope on January 15, 1996. At the time the shot was taken, the telescope was aimed at a point in the sky that a human's eye would perceive as total darkness. This allowed scientists to understand that even what we see as darkness, it is actually filled with the light of thousands and thousands of galaxies and stars.

  6. I think it's unbelieveable that we would view this picture with our eyes alone as total darkness. It really shows how much technology can help us make new discoveries now, and in the future.

  7. It would be impossible for a thinking person to view this and assume that human beings are the only life in the universe. These photos makes me feel very tiny and insignificant. Thank God!
